iStyle... Which Coast Was Having The BEST Week EVER?!

Clearly it was NOT the East Coast... We are actually having the worst week ever... considering we've had every type of natural weather disaster in ONE week!

Besides Orange I feel like I wear Green almost every day of my life!

Aug 23...
Off work today... my regular routine includes, blogging, talking on the celly and catching up on my reality shows... well around noon in the middle of blogging about Beyonce and laughing at crazy Mark Earl... I feel my apartment swaying. It wasn't just a slight swaying motion, it was very intense, to where I stopped and took note. Last time my apartment moved in that manner was when someone crashed their Uhaul into the building. I didn't hear a crash, therefore I knew that scenario was false... the only other thing that could move my entire living quarters for that amount of time could only be an earthquake! I mentioned it to Mark and brushed it off because I live in New York ... we do NOT have earthquakes! If I was still residing in California I would believed it! Finally off the phone, I decided to go to my number one resource to see if any of my twitter peeps are tweeting about an earthquake... and by George they are... an Earthquake hit Virgina and the effects were felt up the east coast to points beyond New York! Crazy! A 5.8 earthquake shook the whole east coast... well there is a first time for everything!

After all that fuss and feeling lightheaded and finding out I got a new job...
seemed like a good idea to hit the city for drinks!
Train Flow To Houston!

Someone tweeted this picture! Not even 6 hours after the Earthquake and people already had T-Shirts printed up! #iCant

Aug 24...

Color Sunglasses are in... Rihanna has White and I have Green!

Bored with the traditional loafer already... I decided to iStyle mines by adding these CrewCut flower pins! I received an enormous amount of comments, some laughs and a slight dis from my co-worker who said they looked like Clown Shoes... ANTHONY, you are such a HATEEERRRR! I didn't speak to him for the rest of the day... and to think he wanted some of my lunch! No, nope! Not after you talked about my shoes!
Elegant edge to any ensemble...

Aug 26...
It's Friday night and now word on the weather streets is the East Coast is going to be hit by hurricane Irene this weekend! Really ...a Hurricane?!?! I was supposed to be going to Baltimore to celebrate the big homie Dev's birthday... but who knows what the deal is going to be.

But just encase the hurricane comes and we are stuck in the house, we might as well have some goodies!
To PathMart we go, gathering some last minute things... Ace already got the major stuff.

We went for this...

Then saw this...

Nope... waiting with all these people it was bound to be a fight! So we dropped our snacks and headed to the door! Bye!

We ended up here...
Bread and a Mango Smoothie was the result!
Sadface... I haven't had a Mango Smoothie since Dan passed away... we use to OD off this drink. Ordering one, sometimes two a day! Panera was our weakness and an expensive habit!

Aug 28...
Didn't go to Baltimore... super sad about that. Irene happened to New York Late Saturday Night, Early Sunday morning... and by the time I woke up it was all over! The only thing left was some wind!
Being that Dumbo is off the water... Stores and prepared for the unknown!

This was the only flood we saw in DUMBO.

Who is this Avatar?!

Lawd, I look like I belong in some African Village in Nigeria ... Hey Adamu!
Don't Judge Us!

Checking to see how high the tide raised on the rocks.

Instagram made this look like the BK Island!

Yup! The perfect after Hurricane outfits!

Manhattan Bridge... still some clouds left behind!

As you can see we were not the only ones out surveying the land!

I wonder if this tape would have really helped these window?!?! Hmmmm...

Nope these little random placed sand bags were NOT going to stop any water from seeping into this place!

Brooklyn Bridge!

Across the water... the Financial District!

So all is well in DUMBO and most parts of New York... some lost of power, some flooding and a lot of rain later, New York is back to normal!

By 6 a.m. the next day the trains were back running, I was running to work and the people were running out of the house to shop, so over the cabin fever! Life as we know it is back to normal, no real effects of Irene on Manhattan, therefore New York City is still the 'untouchable' in a lot of folks minds! You have to love cocky New Yorkers!
